I. SUMMARY
The Crew Planner is responsible for the monthly flying schedules of 400 crewmembers, improving productivity and realizing cost savings, preparing payroll reports for accounts payable in a timely fashion and working with travel department to ensure cost efficient traveling arrangement for North American Airlines.
II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
*Interfacing with senior management, Inflight and Flight Operations sections to determine the best allocation of crew resources in order to establish consistency within the airlines.
*Planning, publishing and disseminating 400 crewmembers' monthly flying schedules so they are within FAR guidelines and company policies.
*Integrating pop-up charters into existing schedules recognizing synergies, enhancing efficiencies and improving overall productivity and realizing cost savings in order to save money.
*Preparing analytical review and additional data as required by comparing and contrasting crew utilization and crew cost based on several variables to assist budget forecasting and ensure maximum utilization levels of company resources.
*Preparing payroll reports for Accounts Payable in a timely fashion as required by airline policy.
*Working side-by-side with the Travel department to ensure cost efficient traveling arrangements and legality and safety positioning of crew members to international destinations.
*Other duties as assigned to assist North American Airlines in achieving its operational goals and objectives.

A. Education and/or Experience
For the Crew Planner job, a Bachelor's Degree (or its equivalent) is required. A minimum of either two years of Crew Planning experience or four years of Crew Scheduling experience is required.
B. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
*Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites and Sabre software. Strong planning skills. Business knowledge is helpful.
*Must have an interest and ability in serving others as one of the primary functions of one's job.
*Must have a strong command of English language including grammar, style, and punctuation for any written correspondence or communication.
*The ability to work with computers is invaluable to this position.
*When necessary, the ability to understand and communicate within a technical or specialized subject-matter, particularly as it pertains to aviation and the aviation industry.
*The ability to process information from a variety of sources and to articulate information in a meaningful way to one's co-workers or supervisors is critical to this position.
*Strong communication skills: must be comfortable engaging in a variety of different communicative modes (verbal, non-verbal, and written). In addition, the ability to listen actively is important for this job as well.
*The ability to receive direct or indirect instruction and act upon such instruction to accomplish a given task or duty. In the event of unclear instruction, must have the ability to clearly ask for further information at their own discretion to gain clarity around tasks.
*Must have a strong command of reasoned, measured decision-making based upon analyzing the pros and cons of each potential decision to be made.

Approximately 0%-10% of one's time is spent traveling.
