NAA Technical Purchasing Agent
The Technical Purchasing Agent position at North American Airlines is responsible for securing aircraft parts necessary for all NAA flights to maintain the safe, efficient operation of all aircraft. Also responsible for component repair services and inventory control.
Further Job Responsibilities:
- Negotiating contracts for the purchase of aircraft parts and supplies from outside vendors and other airlines.
- Purchasing the aircraft parts and supplies, on an as needed and scheduled basis, from outside vendors and other airlines.
- Fostering relationships between other airlines to ensure that in the event of a time urgency, parts can be exchanged between airlines on an as-needed basis.
- Assisting in the systematic safety checks (heavy and routine) for all NAA aircraft.
- Other duties as assigned to assist North American Airlines in achieving its operational goals and objectives.
Job Requirements:
- Airline purchasing experience is absolutely a requirement of this position.
- Fluency in Excel required.
- HS Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

- Must have the ability to take initiative on a given task and persist with the task to its completion.
- Ability to identify problems and their sources. While not necessarily accountable for the solutions, an individual must be able to identify potential resources to help in the decision making process for a particular problem.
- Must possess an ability to manage one’s own time, to ensure that the work that needs to be accomplished in a given time frame is successfully accomplished. The ability to prioritize the work provided by others in terms of importance is imperative to this position.
- The ability to receive direct or indirect instruction and act upon such instruction to accomplisha given task or duty. In the event of unclear instruction, must have the ability to clearly ask forfurther information at their own discretion to gain clarity around tasks.
- Must have an ability to self-monitor one’s progress and abilities, so as to determine areas for potential development and growth within the company.
- Strong communication skills; must be comfortable engaging in a variety of different communicative modes (verbal, non-verbal, and written). In addition, the ability to listen actively is important for this job as well.
- The ability to process information from a variety of sources and to articulate information in a meaningful way to one’s co-workers or supervisors is critical to this position.
- Must have a strong understand of clerical and administrative principles, procedures, and systems so as to complete one’s work with the best available resources, strategies, and plan.
- Must have an interest and ability in serving others as one of the primary functions of their job.
- Must have a strong command of English language including grammar, style, and punctuation for any written correspondence or communication.
- The ability to work with computers is invaluable to this position.
- When necessary, the ability to understand and communicate within a technical or specialized subject matter, particularly as it pertains to aviation and the aviation industry.
