I. SUMMARY
The Technical Purchasing Agent position at North American Airlines is responsible for securing aircraft parts necessary for all NAA flights to maintain the safe, efficient operation of all aircrafts.
II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
*Negotiating contracts for the purchase of aircraft parts and supplies from outside vendors and other airlines.
*Purchasing the aircraft parts and supplies, on an as needed and scheduled basis, from outside vendors and other airlines.
*Fostering relationships between other airlines to ensure that in the event of a time urgency, parts can be exchanged between airlines on an as-needed basis.
*Assisting in the systematic safety checks (heavy and routine) for all NAA aircraft.
*Other duties as assigned to assist North American Airlines in achieving its operational goals and objectives.

A. Education and/or Experience
For the Technical Purchasing Agent job, a High School Diploma (or its equivalent) and one to two years experience is required. In the absence of a diploma, equivalent experience will be considered. Experience within airline supply purchasing is very highly preferred; experience at North American Airlines also strongly preferred.
B. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
*Must be computer-savvy with proficiency in the essential functions of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word (at a minimum).
*Strong communication skills: must be comfortable with engaging in a variety of different communicative modes (verbal, non-verbal, and written) and being attuned to others through strong active listening skills.
*Must have a strong command of the English language including grammar, style, and punctuation for any written correspondence or communication.
*The ability to process information from a variety of sources and to articulate information in a meaningful way to ones co-workers or supervisors is critical to this position.
*Able to identify problems, their sources, and their potential solutions while continuing to successfully conduct day-to-day operations without interruption.
*Must have a strong command of reasoned, measured decision-making based upon analyzing the pros and cons of each potential decision to be made.
*Must have the ability to take initiative on a given task or project and persist with the project to its completion.
*Must possess a strong ability to manage ones own time, as well as others time, to ensure that the work that needs to be accomplished in a given time frame is, in fact accomplished. Hand-in-hand with this ability is the ability to prioritize tasks when given clearly defined goals and objectives.
*The ability to receive direct or indirect instruction and act upon such instruction to accomplish a given task or duty. In the event of unclear instruction, must have the ability to clearly ask for further information at their own discretion to gain clarity around tasks.
*Must have an ability to ¬self-monitor ones progress and abilities, so as to determine areas for potential development and growth within the company.
*Must have an interest and ability in serving others as one of the primary functions of their job.
*The ability to work with computers is invaluable to this position.
*When necessary, the ability to understand and communicate within a technical or specialized subject-matter, particularly as it pertains to aviation and the aviation industry.
