NAA SOC Operations Controller

I. SUMMARY

The Operations Controller position at North American Airlines is responsible for direct monitoring and coordinating of all aircraft and daily flight schedules to ensure safe, efficient flight operations at NAA.

II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

*Monitor, coordinate, and control the direct movement of all of NAA's aircraft within a 72-hour period to ensure accurate, safe, and efficient flight operations.
*Make decisions, in the absence of a duty operations supervisor, with regard to flight movements and schedule disruptions to improve NAAs disrupted flight operations.
*Disseminate flight and ground operations information to station personnel and department heads to ensure information is accurate and up-to-date for all operational divisions.
*Research flight delay information and preparing delay reports for the director to ensure that flight operations management is made aware of any flight disruptions.
*Prepare FliteTrac updates and notifications for accurate information through NAA and the FAA.
*Assist the Duty Manager in interfacing with all affected departments in the event of disrupted flights to meet NAA's daily operational requirements for its clients.
*Other duties as assigned to assist North American Airlines in achieving its operational goals and objectives.

III. QUALIFICATIONS

A. Education and/or Experience

High school diploma (or its equivalent) is required and a Bachelor's degree is preferred. Experience within the airline industry, specifically flight operations, is preferred.

B. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
 

*Must have a strong command of the English language including grammar, style, and punctuation for all written correspondence and oral communication.
*Must be able to multitask and prioritize tasks during periods of high operational tempo.
*Must have the ability to create and execute operational plans to prevent and minimize operational disruptions.
*Have a strong knowledge of the processes, procedures, and business practices of North American Airlines operations.
*Superior ability to pay attention to detail to ensure the timely coordination, communication and recording of operational details and events.
*Manage, motivate, develop, and direct people in their work so as to best achieve shared organizational and operational goals.
*Ability to think tactically as well as strategically when problem solving.
*Ability to give and receive directions and follow through with them to completion.

C. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Dispatch license preferred.

IV. WORKING CONDITIONS

A. Travel Requirements

No travel is required for this job.

B. Physical Demands
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
