I. SUMMARY

The Sr. Director of Operations Control position at North American Airlines is responsible for the management and supervision of North American Airline’s daily flight schedule to ensure absolute safety and efficiency in all NAA flights.
 
II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Overseeing the overall management of the daily flight schedule at North American Airlines.
  • Researching daily operations performance to ensure that NAA’s standards of safety and excellence in operations are met.
  • Communicating with all remote (downline) stations as well as senior management and other North American Airlines departments to ensure alignment around issues with NAA’s daily flight schedule.
  • Coordinating with the Air Mobility Command operational personnel to ensure safety and regulatory compliance during actual flight activity.
  • Advising senior management in arranging for or positioning flights, or in chartering aircrafts from other aviation operations, to fulfill operational and commercial requirements.  
  • Managing individuals within the flight operations division.
  • Other duties as assigned to assist North American Airlines in achieving its operational goals and objectives.

A. Education and/or Experience
 
For the Sr. Director Operations Control position, a Master’s Degree (or its equivalent) and five to seven years of experience is required. In the absence of a diploma, equivalent experience will be considered. Experience within the airline management industry and experience at North American Airlines is strongly preferred. 
 
B. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
 
  • Superior understanding of the organization that he or is she is responsible for and how it fits together with the other components of the organization.
  • The ability to use careful, measured judgment and decision making; (weighing the costs and benefits of a potential action; using discretion).
  • Able to identify problems, their sources, and their potential solutions while continuing to successfully conduct day-to day operations without interruption.
  • Must be an individual who is able to build relationships between individuals and within one’s division. 
  • Ability to think strategically about issues pertaining to a particular unit, division, or company.
  • Ability to both give and receive directions and follow through with them to completion.

IV. WORKING CONDITIONS
 
A. Travel Requirements
 
Traveling for this job is expected to be 10%.
 
B. Physical Demands
 
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Must pass 10-year background check and drug screen to be eligible for employment at North American Airlines.
