I. SUMMARY
The Aircraft Maintenance Planner/Records is responsible for maintenance issues, parts coordination, updating CARDEX, printing reports and performing function as production control during A checks and C checks, among other tasks.
II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Forecasting and scheduling maintenance and issuing proper and legible paperwork to make sure they are done in a timely manner.
- Updating CARDEX of all accomplished work as required by airline policy.
- Printing reports, auditing CARDEX and A/C records as required by airline policy.
- Preparing “A” checks “C” checks work packages and daily workload as needed.
- Performing function as production control during A checks and C checks in accordance with airline policy.
- Auditing, cataloging and maintaining including filing of all current and historical aircraft records, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned to assist North American Airlines in achieving its operational goals and objectives.

A. Education and/or Experience
For the Aircraft Maintenance Planner/Records job a Bachelor’s Degree (or its equivalent) and one to two years experience is required.
B. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Must have proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- A working knowledge of UltraMain is preferable.
- Must have the ability to take initiative on a given task and persist with the task to its completion.
- Able to identify problems and their sources. While not necessarily accountable for the solutions, an individual must be able to identify potential resources to help in the decision making process for a particular problem.
- Must possess an ability to manage one’s own time, to ensure that the work that needs to be accomplished in a given time frame is, in fact, accomplished. The ability to prioritize the work provided by others in terms of importance is imperative to this position.
- Must have an ability to self-monitor one’s progress and abilities, so as to determine areas for potential development and growth within the company.
- Strong communication skills: must be comfortable engaging in a variety of different communicative modes (verbal, non-verbal, and written). In addition, the ability to listen actively is important for this job as well.
- The ability to process information from a variety of sources and to articulate information in a meaningful way to one’s co-workers or supervisors is critical to this position.
- Must have a strong command of English language, including grammar, style, and punctuation for any written correspondence or communication.
- When necessary, the ability to understand and communicate within a technical or specialized subject matter, particularly as it pertains to aviation and the aviation industry.

There are no requirements for this job. This is not a DOT safety sensitive position.
IV. WORKING CONDITIONS
A. Travel Requirements
Approximately 5%-10% of one’s time is spent traveling.
B. Physical Demands
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
